Installing Bootcamp Drivers On Windows 10
So, I recently Installed Windows 10 Pro (Not Preview), and everything seemed to work fine except the Fn Keys. I am now unable to change the Brightness, Volume, etc.
Problem: Boot Camp Control panel on Windows 10 doesn’t display macOS drive/partition which you could select to boot into. Cause: The Boot Camp utility is not able to read APFS drive/partitions. The most recent Boot Camp version is currently available only for iMacPro1,1. Solution: Basically you need to update to Boot Camp 6.1 or later. Before this I had Bootcamp setup with Win7. So, I started out by deleting the old Win7 Bootcamp Partition using the Bootcamp Assistant on Mac and then created a new partition and went on to install Windows 10. Everything seems to have gone smoothly: Partitioning, Installation of Windows 10, and the Apple Bootcamp drivers. I have a 2010 Macbook Pro with Snow Leopard (10.6.8) installed and couldn't get the right Boot Camp upgrade using any of the Apple download software from within the bootcamp Application. After installing this Update/Upgrade suddenly all of the required drivers appeared in the Windows 'Device manager' and everything started working perfectly. No, I had Windows 8, and Upgraded to Windows 10 Manually. Before, on Windows 8, the Function Keys seemed to work just fine. After the Windows 10 Upgrade, the Fn Keys stopped working. I got F1, F2 to work (Brightness) by going on Control Panel - Bootcamp - Keyboard. But that's it, I didn't get the rest to work.
I went to my Mac Partition, erased my 8GB Flash Drive to (FAT), and went to bootcamp and selected to copy the Drivers into the USB. I did this and when I installed it, I restarted as promoted, and still, the Fn Keys didn't work.
Any suggestions?
